"I can catch ‘em shallow. I can catch ‘em deep. Open water at the back of a creek. The wind, the rain, to me it's all the same. I make a living playing this game. I thank the Lord above every time I can. I get to be a fisherman.”Casey Ashley

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Gregory Lee Sisk who was born in Virginia on September 11, 1959 and passed away on August 20, 2008 at his home doing what he loved ... Farming.

Greg Sisk was a Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Father In-Law, Grandfather, Cousin, Uncle, Nephew, FRIEND and much more to all that knew him.  While he was known by many just for his friendly smile, there was so much more to Greg that brought so many of us joy in our lives.

Please use this website to leave your memories of Greg as I'm sure they'll bring many smiles to all who knew and love him!

Greg owned and operated Greg Sisk Contracting for the last 7 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and farming. He was a staff member of the Warren County Jr. Bass Anglers Club, and a member of the Massanutten Archery Club. He was Assistant State Youth Director for the BASS/ESPN Virginia State Program.

While I know I could sit here all day and go on about what a wonderful man Greg was and continues to be in our hearts, I know there are lots of people who loved him for all of the same reasons and many more ... so please do share your memories with us.

BIG GREG

Big Greg was just a good ole boy

As several here would say
The kind of fellow many liked
In their own special way.

The town considered him a friend
To everyone around
He always gave a lending hand
When someone else was down

Greg loved to fish down at the lake
Or the river, he’d reel them in
The guys would gather round
Just to share the tales they’d spin

Big Greg drove a pickup truck
Had coffee with the boys
Down at the local cabinet shop
Their conversations were a joy

Once in awhile, he’d meet the gang
Some would come from near and far
They’d share a few beers outside of his garage
These guys didn’t need a bar

A family man, that’s what they said
The day he passed away
Friends and neighbors came from miles around
Respects, they came to pay

Big Greg lived a life so full
Of that there is no doubt
Yet, the very most important thing
Has somehow been left out

Big Greg dwells among the angels now
He glides across the fields on that green John Deere
Yes, he’s left us much too soon
But ya know, he wouldn’t want us to shed a tear

See him in the fields of grain
He’ll be riding with the wind
And when our paths get beaten down
It will be Big Greg that picks us up again…
